Welcome to the Blaenafon Triathlon
*** Entry for 2011 race opens late December ***
Welcome to our web site. It may have taken twenty five years to arrive, but we hope you think the wait was worthwhile!
Race number 27 is booked for Pontypool Active Learning Centre, for Sunday 16 May 2010.
Now promoted by Newport & East Wales Triathlon Club, Gareth Buffet’s challenging race is the longest continually held triathlon in the UK. For 27 years the race has been held in the hills around Blaenafon, and is now settling in to its new home in Pontypool.
As one of the hardest standard distance triathlons in the country, Gareth’s course was chosen to be a challenge. We have visitors who travel across the country year after year to test themselves against some serious climbs. Come and see why.
Can you handle it?
